Join Artist‑in‑Residence Andrea Clement for a hands‑on encaustic demo and workshop exploring this ancient art form, which involves layering molten beeswax onto a panel and incorporating pigments, paint, and lightweight materials to create richly textured, luminous works of art.

The two hour demo and workshop begins with an introduction to Andrea’s encaustic practice followed by a demonstration of essential techniques, including building and fusing layers, adding texture, incising lines and shapes, embedding papers, and scraping back to reveal hidden details within your piece. Participants will then experiment with these methods to create their own encaustic artworks using provided materials and equipment.

Designed for both beginners and experienced artists, this demo and workshop encourages a playful and exploratory approach to encaustic painting. No prior painting or encaustic experience is required, and all materials are included.
